Made in Bombay and now residing in California, Micropixie defies easy classification on her recently released debut album, Alice in Stevie Wonderland. Having never studied any form of music, the album pleasantly surprises by weaving sensuous instrumentation with elaborate vocal textures and a peculiar narrative covering a range of emotions and genres from down-tempo jazzy-lounge to spoken word.

While the album, which has been two and a half years in the making, allows confrontation of her many themes of identity, conformity, trust and truth, Micropixie (describing herself as a ‘single beige female’) is confronting her own identity by traveling to Calcutta to finally study the art of music and gain even more influences from the sub-continent.
